Turbulence Causes Gulf Air Airbus A330 to Divert to Mumbai

A Gulf Air Airbus A330-200 carrying 247 passengers from Manila to Bahrain experienced severe turbulence on Friday, resulting in injuries to passengers and crewmemembers, Gulf Air confirmed in a statement.
Flight GF155 diverted to Mumbai, landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, at 11:30 am GMT (2:30 pm Bahrain time), where one passenger received medical attention.
After undergoing maintenance inspection, the A330 departed Mumbai some four hours later, resuming service to Bahrain International Airport with an anticipated arrival time of 6:55 pm GMT.
“Gulf Air apologizes for the uncontrollable incident and resulting impact on passengers,” the airline said in its statement. “The airline’s crew are trained to manage such events and all passengers on board were assisted by Gulf Air staff at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport while the aircraft underwent maintenance inspection.”
