Toyota To Partner With Getaround On Car Sharing Service

   Toyota is the latest automobile maker to make a bet for car-sharing just as some people love, a partnership has been made between Toyota and Getaround , a car-sharing service provider.

   While car makers look to Individual car ownership to boost sales, Toyota is looking to Individual Car Sharing to boost Owners’ income, how generous they are with the program.

   Toyota partnership with Getround comes with integration with Getaround’s platform on the technology and finance side incentivizing Toyota car owners to participate ”very good”. Getaround allows car owners to rent out their cars while not in use in order to decrease the amount of time they spend idle and help owners use their vehicles to offset the cost of owning them.

   From January 2017 Toyota will be testing its generous car-sharing service in San Fransisco through the use of a device called the Smart Key Box. The device can be installed on a vehicle’s dashboard without any significant modifications.

   As per partnership, Toyota will offer new vehicles beginning with premium Lexus cars for rental via Getaround with completely keyless entry and driving via their smartphone.
