India Government Says; Policies for defence, aerospace industries soon

Minister Vijay Rupani said on Thursday that the state government will be coming
out with policies for defence and aeropace industries, which would help the
micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) grow.
"We have made 18 policies on several industries and now will make policy for defence and aerospace industries. The state has many industries, including manufacturing, chemical, shipbreaking and soon a defence factory will also come up," Rupani said during the inaugural ceremony of Vibrant VCCI Trade Show 2016 here on Thursday.
"We will also make vertical GIDC to ensure that small-scale industries get easy and quick infrastructure. Thousands of hectare of land will be provided for the new GIDCs," Rupani said Union minister of state for MSMEs, Haribhai Chaudhary, said, "The state has 3.76 lakh units and 106 clusters, including that of engineering, textiles, agro and other. MSME sector had made 20 parts of Tejas fighter aircraft and 15 of Mangalyaan.
VCCI president Nilesh Shukla said the expo had created thousands of jobs and given birth to 160 innovative products apart from creating models for start-ups. "I suggest that industrial associations and chambers from all the 29 districts should come together and organize an event 'Know the strength of Gujarat' at Mahatma Mandir to enable MSMEs to go global," Shukla said, reiterating his demand for a plot of land for holding VCCI expo in the city.
