Microsoft reveals its '12 Days of Deals' holiday sale

Black Friday and Cyber Monday may have passed but for millions of consumers, there’s still plenty of shopping to do. If you happen to have a techie still on your list (or are simply scouting for a great deal for yourself), Microsoft’s 12 days of deals promotion may be worth a look.

Beginning December 5 (this coming Monday), Microsoft will host a new deal each day through December 16. In lieu of revealing a new deal each day and keeping potential customers in suspense, Microsoft elected to publish its full slate of deals in one fell swoop which we’ve reproduced below:

§  Day 1, December 5: Save up to $1,000 on select Intel-powered PCs, starting at $199
§  Day 2, December 6: Only $199 for a Lenovo Ideapad 110 laptop
§  Day 3, December 7: Save up to 50 percent on select Xbox One games, now $19.99
§  Day 4, December 8: Save $250 on Surface Pro 4 with Intel Core m3 and 128GB SSD (now $649)
§  Day 5, December 9: Save up to 70 percent on select Windows tablets, now starting at $49
§  Day 6, December 10: Save up to $250 on the Windows Premium Collection devices, starting at $499
§  Day 7, December 11: Buy select Xbox controllers and get a $25 Microsoft Store gift code
§  Day 8, December 12: Save $50 and get two free games with select Xbox One consoles
§  Day 9, December 13: Get a $100 Microsoft Store gift code with the purchase of Oculus Rift or HTC Vive
§  Day 10, December 14: Save up to $1,000 on select gaming PCs, starting at $799
§  Day 11, December 15: Save up to 40 percent on select Dell PCs, starting at $199
§  Day 12, December 16: Save up to $200 on select Surface Pro 4 plus free Type Cover (up to $359 value)

It’s uncharacteristic of Microsoft to reveal its hand all at once but then again, this isn’t the same Microsoft with Satya Nadella at the helm (and that’s a good thing). Quite frankly, there’s no reason to keep daily deals a secret – especially near the end of the holiday buying season. Doing so only increases the likelihood that potential customers will take their business elsewhere.
